Okay ... I just had to share something funny that happened today. It probably won't be as funny now that I type it out as it was at the time, but here goes.
It seems like every day Kate and Josh come up with these funny things to say that absolutely crack me up. Josh has especially been on a roll lately. He loves to use big words and sound like he's all grown up. For instance, tonight at dinner he was interrupted and when he was able to continue he said, "And as I was saying." Excuse me? Was that my 5 year old or his attorney father?
The thing that really made me laugh today was an incident with the phone. Josh's new favorite movie (at least for now) is "Snow Buddies." (Could it be that we're done with Star Wars for a while?) Anyway, these cute little dogs in the show say all sorts of things like "Super fly yo!" and "Word!" Josh has probably watched this show about 10-15 times since we got it and has practically memorized the entire show.
This afternoon he was watching this movie AGAIN in my room when the phone rang. I answered it out in the family room and thankfully it was Greg. Not knowing that I had already answered it, I heard someone pick up the phone in the other room and this little voice say, "Hello Fearnfield. This is Deputy Dan." (another line from "Snow Buddies") He didn't even miss a beat ... he didn't even know who was on the phone ... that's just how he decided to answer! It cracked me up and I was so glad that it was Greg calling so that he could share a good laugh with me.
And then earlier this week as he was leaving for preschool he said, "Mom, from now on when I leave for school I'm going to pound on my chest and say 'Word' just like the guys in 'Snow Buddies.'" And sure enough, that day as he hopped in the car, he gave me his new farewell sign. I'm afraid of what he might come up with next.

Jill,
I love that kid. He is hysterical. What am I gonna do when I dont see him everyday. "Word." Love ya.
It must be the age I love it. Zack will answer the phone like a girl and say, " hello this is Nancy Francom"
Only you and greg could produce such quirky kids- wait a minute- Thomas is a little on the weird side as well- um, it could just be the age?
That is hillarious! I can totally hear Josh eagerly quoting the lines from his favorite movie -- just waiting for the "perfect moment". What a funny guy! I love reading your blog! You are such a cute mom.
