We decided to get out of the heat and headed to Salt Lake for a little fun. To start off we celebrated Utah's Pioneer Day with the 24th of July Parade. It was super hot, but we appreciated Ry, Deb and Nolan for sleeping out in order to get good seats! Way to go you guys! Thanks for taking one for the team!
Eme also got to meet some of her aunts, uncles and cousins for the first time. I think that Zoe was by far the most excited to see her!
Next on our vacation ... A surprise 60th birthday party for Nana! We told her to keep her day wide open. We started off with a little miniature golf and some lunch at Cafe Rio - her fav! Then we told her we all had things to do and that we'd meet back at her house for cards and pizza that night. Thanks to Jim (Nana's beau) for keeping her occupied for a few hours and getting her to the party without suspecting anything. The rest of us headed back to her house to prepare for the big surprise. We managed to pull it off and everyone had a great time! We love you mom/nana! Thanks for being such an incredible part of our lives!
Then sadly, Mr. Hardman had to head home to "bring home the bacon." But the kids and I decided to stay for a few extra days and party some more. I spent time shopping for school clothes and even tried my hand at sewing. We also got to be a part of Zoe's birthday party, the mom's (and Eme) had a little girls weekend and we went to the beach. Okay ... when I say beach I use that term loosely. It's a man-made beach, nothing like the real thing, but we had a great time nonetheless.
Thanks everyone for a fun, fun week! We love and miss you all tons! See you again in a few weeks!
