Ben and April have been friends of ours ... correction - FAMILY to us since the long and hard days of law school. Without question they were our saving grace back then. Hundreds of miles from anyone or anything familiar to us, we stuck together and made it through. We have so many wonderful memories of those days, but thankfully the memories don't stop there. We've remained close and continue to have fun times together, even if it's only once or twice a year.
This past weekend they made the journey from beautiful Carlsbad to St. George, which April calls "the surface of the sun!" (And quite honestly it felt like it!) It didn't matter that it was too hot to even stick our toes outside. We spent 3 days talking, laughing, eating and loving on our new babies. It was PERFECT! You see ... this was what we were waiting for all those years ... BABIES!
Like us, B & A struggled with infertility. April and I have shed more than a few tears longing for little ones to love. And now it's almost like a poetic ending ... we have 5 kids between us! And ironically ... Amelie and Emersyn are exactly 3 weeks apart! I always said that I wanted baby #3 incredibly bad, but I also wanted my sister, Amy, and April to both adopt babies before we did. My wish came true! April was also in the delivery room with their birth mom when Amelie was born. I love that she knows EXACTLY how I feel about birth moms, adopting, and the amazing experience of seeing our daughters born! What a blessing and well worth the wait!

Jill, that is so sweet that you and April both share that bond with each other, and that both these little girls came so close together! How fun that she was able to come visit you! Sounds like you had a good time! You both deserve all that you have! You are amazing women! Yeah for you!
