Now, back to what we've been doing. Earlier this month, Kate got to be in her first track meet. She and her classmates worked super hard and practiced days on end. When it all came down to it, she ran the 200m and did a great job! She kept telling me, "Mom, I took last place in my group." But I reminded her that at least she tried. She had fun and that's all that really matters. This was, after all, just Elementary School - not the Olympics. Here's a few pics of her and her friends.
Next up ... EASTER! We had such a fun weekend. My mom, grandparents and brothers all came down for the weekend. Unfortunately, my sis and her family couldn't come because Liv was super sick. (We missed you guys!) Nana -aka my mom - decided to have a night time Easter egg hunt. It was kind of cold and wet that day, so we resorted to a hunt in our basement. The kids didn't care and loved the idea of searching for eggs with their flashlights. Thanks for the fun idea mom! We also colored Easter eggs, had a big dinner and enjoyed a Sunday afternoon in the backyard. It was great!
Finally, last weekend was a very special weekend for our family. For many, many years we have been praying that my little sister and her husband would be able to adopt a baby. In fact, I always said that I wanted them to get a baby before we were able to adopt baby #3 and my wish came true! A few months ago they were blessed to have Miss Olivia come to their family and just last week the adoption was finalized and they were able to take her to the temple. What an incredible experience it was to see them sealed together as an eternal family. The entire weekend was PERFECT! Congrats Amy, Casey and Liv! We love you guys!
And the fun just keeps going. We've got final soccer games, dance recitals, Mother's day, end of school parties and much, much more. PLUS, in just 1 week, Heide and Addy are coming to Utah! We can't wait to show them all around town and introduce them to our world. I'm sure I'll have lots of fun things to post in the coming weeks. I just hope I can keep up.
