3 Things making me smile today ...

Have you ever had one of those days when you just feel like smiling? Today is one of those days for me and there's lots of reasons why ... it's Saturday, I have a great husband who loves me, it's sunny outside, etc. All of those are great reasons to smile. But today there are 3 things that are really making me smile.

#1 Reason to smile: A few weeks ago I mentioned that my mom had to have her thyroid taken out and we were all worried about whether or not it was cancerous. Well, it was and she had to have some radiation treatment last week. Then she had to go back in for some tests yesterday to see if it had spread. GOOD NEWS! She got the test results back last night and it has NOT spread! I am so incredibly thankful! Mom ... you're the best and we love you SO much! (I hope you don't mind that I mentioned this on my blog.)

#2 Reason to smile: My little man has discovered his LOVE for basketball! For the past few months Josh has been obsessed with the Utah Jazz. He asks us every morning if they're playing that day, can he watch the game and then follows up to see if they won. Then we signed him up for his first season of basketball and last Saturday was his first practice. Honestly, the kid has barely taken off his jersey to take a bath and the bounce of the ball can be heard at all hours of the day on my kitchen floor. He has been SO excited about his 1st game, which was this morning. Unfortunately, he got really sick yesterday and couldn't go. (his choice - so you know he was sick) But he's still carrying around his basketball and counting down the days until HIS first big game. Keep an eye out for him in a few years. We're hoping he hits the NBA and can make his parents rich! (just kidding ... kind of)

#3 Reason to smile: As I mentioned, Josh has been sick and therefore, I haven't been sleeping so well. So, this morning Josh and I were sleeping in a little ... until 7:50 a.m. (What can I say ... my kids aren't late sleepers.) Anyway, Greg had headed off to work early to get a couple of hours in and apparently Kate woke up around 7:00. But instead of coming in and waking us up she did this ...

She quietly carried in a chair and set it next to my bed, poured a bowl of cereal for me and her little brother and got us both a drink, then quietly snuck out and closed the door. Honestly, it made my whole day! She is such a sweetheart and very thoughtful! I really couldn't be prouder of her!

Anyway, there you have it ... the 3 things that are making me smile today! Now, if I could just get rid of the zits on my face I'd be bursting with joy! :)
